Abstract

This article evaluates the potential of electric bicycles as a way of promoting active mobility at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS) Cuenca campus, offering a solution to current student mobility challenges. Using data obtained from displacement tests on pre-established routes, we analyze the efficiency of electric bicycles under different parameters, including altimetry and the unique geography of Cuenca city, with a focus on the campus of the UPS. Our analysis employs mathematical parameters such as measures of central tendency and dispersion to evaluate critical and strategic points of the data gathered. Results indicate that electric bicycles offer a highly feasible solution to promoting electromobility in the city.
