Analysis of Projects Electricity Generation Using Geothermal Energy Sources through the Methodology of System Dynamics: Ecuador Case

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

This article presents the results of the feasibility study for the implementation of projects of power generation using geothermal sources available in Ecuador. For this purpose a system based on the methodology of System Dynamics, which considers technological, environmental and economic aspects involved in the total cost of the project investment model is proposed, the results obtained for the proposed scenarios indicate that for Ecuador will be profitable projects which are installed power generation capacity of 10 MW, the same as transposed into national interconnected system would represent 12 million tons of CO2/year avoided.
