General objective To determine quantitatively and qualitatively by Real Time PCR Listeria monocytogenes, which causes Listeriosis, in samples of raw milk and artisanal cheeses, from the province of Pichincha. Justification Through this information, we intend to take a first step towards the dimensioning of the infection in Ecuador and the knowledge of its characteristics in our field. This should help to sensitize those responsible for public health towards the introduction of improvements in the systematic surveillance and control of listeriosis.
