Giro Ontológico en el Pueblo Waorani

Project Details

Description

General objective Analyze the presence of a multinaturalist approach in a Waorani community, as well as the peculiarities of this people in their relationship with Modernity and their idea of nature. Justification Science is an unfinished knowledge that is built through paradigms. The structuralism of Levi - Strauss for several decades was the anthropological paradigm of Amazonian studies. Now, there are other theories that have shown the inconsistencies of structuralism and that propose different explanations of the Amazonian peoples. One of these theories is Viveiros de Castro's multinaturalism, which has worked, above all, with Brazilian peoples. It is interesting to take this theory and verify it in an Amazonian people like the Waorani. In this way, it will be possible to show the generalization of the multinaturalist theory, as well as the peculiarities of the Waorani people in their relationship with Modernity. In the same way, this reflection can mean elements for the territorial claims of this Amazonian people.
