Resumen
This instrumental research evaluated the psychometric properties of the Survey Work-Home Interaction – NijmeGen (SWING) within the Ecuadorian labor context. The empirical psychometric analysis was conducted on a sample of 428 people employed in service companies in Quito-Ecuador. The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis support the factorial validity of a first-order intercorrelated tetrafactorial model, composed of the subscales: positive work-home interaction, negative work-home interaction, positive home-work interaction and negative home-work interaction (χ2=535.095, df=203, p<.001; SRMR=.074; RMSEA=.062, IC95% [.056–.068]; TLI=.0954). Considering this measurement model, the reliability tests, quality of items (difficulty, discriminative capacity) and external validity present satisfactory results. Consequently, the validation process carried out contributes initial evidence in favor of the use of the SWING scale as an adequate instrument to evaluate work-home interaction in the case of Ecuador. The final section discusses the findings and proposes recommendations for future studies.
