Resumen

This article explores cosmological theories—such as the Big Bang, string theory, and the laws of thermodynamics—from a philosophical perspective, linking them to the thoughts of Sartre, Cioran, Schopenhauer, Heidegger, and Nietzsche. Recognizing the provisional and unfinished nature of cosmological theories concerning the origin and end of the universe, the article uses the hermeneutic method to analyze how concepts such as "quantum vacuum" and "entropy" acquire ontological depth when engaged with philosophical categories such as Sartre's "nothingness" or Nietzsche's "eternal return." It proposes that the universe, understood as a contingent and expanding being-in-itself, follows a teleological path toward a certain equilibrium, which implies a constant tension between being and nothingness. This interpretation reveals a cosmos characterized by physical dynamism and ontological contingency, where conscious existence emerges as a problematic phenomenon. This reveals an inevitable search for meaning and universal value within an indeterminate cycle of constant cosmic creation and renewal. The work concludes that the epistemic convergence between science and philosophy allows for an understanding that broadens scientific meanings about the universe, sometimes disconnected from human ontology, which shares with the universe its contingency and finitude.
