Resumen
One of the options for electrification marginal or isolated urban areas is using hybrid energy systems where it incorporates two or more renewable energy sources to overcome the intermittency of meteorological variables. The research aims at the technical and economic evaluation of the implementation of a system consisting of solar panels/biomass/batteries. HOMER Pro software is used for the design, simulation and modeling of the proposed system satisfying the energy needs of the load of a house in an isolated place in the province of Guayas in Ecuador. The optimal configuration based on the net present cost (NPC), the cost of power generation (COE), the initial capital cost is compared with respect to the implementation. The simulation results indicate that to meet a load of 143 kWh/day, a 50 kW photovoltaic generator, a 28 kW biomass generator, a battery bank consisting of 55 140 Ah units and a 12.5 kW inverter are optimally required. The total cost of the system where it includes in replacement of equipment to reach the operating time of 25 years is 179346 dollars and the cost of energy is 0.253 dollars.
