Resumen
Fog Computing, which decentralizes the computing infrastructure and extends cloud capabilities closer to the network edge, emerges as a solution to this challenge. In this paper, the authors review the relevant critical business models of Fog Computing from an economic point of view through business models in different scenarios. Specifically, we will describe the economic interaction of the significant players in the Fog Computing markets: End users, service providers, infrastructure providers, and edge resource owners. The results obtained in this research show that, first, the principal business models depend on infrastructure providers, service providers, and end users' requirements. Second, this review's future issues and opportunities are compelling tradeoff management, adapting to end-user dynamic conditions, and architecture standardization and transparency. Third, the analysis conducted in this article shows the vital role of business model analysis in developing the Fog Computing market based on different architectures, to foster competition and stakeholder collaboration, which will significantly impact the future development of Fog Computing.
