Resumen
In the near future Ecuador plans to install massive photovoltaic self-production systems in several sectors according to a new regulation (source: Ecuadorian government). This articlès objective is to segment residential customers according to their monthly average energy consumption and through a profitability analysis of the future investment in these systems, and in this way, to identify those users for whom the installation of these photovoltaic systems in their homes is profitable and especially those users who are not, and in this way, avoid investments and indebtedness in those people whose consumption and income do not require such systems in their daily lives. The analysis is based on the calculation of the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and the benefit-cost ratio (BCR) of photovoltaic projects sized according to the user's energy consumption, the country's regulated energy tariff, the projected production for 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years and tax benefits.
