Partial Discharge Modeling Using ATP Software

Producción científica: Capítulo del libro/informe/acta de congresoContribución de conferenciarevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

A partial discharge modeling system involving insulators is presented, followed by an experimental validation of the models using three types of insulators: the ANSI 55-5 porcelain PIN insulator, the ASUS-27 polymeric suspension insulator, and the XLPE Al conductor insulation. The goal is to detect possible partial discharges (PD) in these test elements, applying the IEC 60270 standard both in the experimental part and in the simulation using the software (ATP). Through the (ATP) tool, the three proposed insulator models are developed, which are used as test elements. Where the IEC 60270 standard is applied, simulation will be conducted with values corresponding to the experimental part carried out in the high voltage laboratories of the Salesian Polytechnic University. To verify the efficacy of the models, voltages exceeding the nominal resistance levels of the mentioned insulators were applied, in accordance with the guidelines of the IEC 60270 standard. An exhaustive analysis and evaluation of the resulting voltage signals were conducted, both in the presence and absence of partial discharge (PD) frequency, in both the experimental part and the simulation. This process aims to validate each of the models developed in the (ATP) software.
