This scoping review, guided by PRISMA protocols, examines 50 articles from reputable sources like Scopus and SpringerLink to analyze the trends, benefits, and challenges of AI in governance. While AI offers substantial potential to enhance government efficiency and service delivery, significant barriers remain, including concerns about bias, transparency, public acceptance, and accountability. This review underscores the need for ongoing research and dialogue on the ethical, social, and practical implications of AI in government to ensure the responsible and inclusive adoption of AI-driven public services.
