Resumen

Digital Transformation (DT) has become a fundamental strategy for modern organizations. However, significant disparities in the maturity of DT persist in Latin America. This study analyzes six digital transformation maturity models (DTMMs), selecting the MIT DTMM for application in 14 technology companies in Cuenca, Ecuador. Using surveys of 280 employees, we assessed four key pillars of digital maturity: Digital Intensity, Transformation Management Intensity, Digital Culture, and Technology Capabilities. Key findings reveal internal heterogeneity across these dimensions, despite similar overall maturity scores. Finally, this research represents one of the first regional applications of MIT DTMM and provides practical information for strategic planning and digital policy for companies in Cuenca, Ecuador.
