The absence of the knee leads to the use of prostheses to achieve an active and autonomous life. Ideally in the design process, the patient could define their own requirements in order to be linked in the early stages of its development. However, it is the patient who must adapt to what exists in the market, which offers import products with high acquisition and maintenance costs. In this investigation, a conceptual design of a knee prosthesis is presented together with a solid geometry constructive procedure that allows to copy the anatomy of an unaffected leg. In addition, it considers simulated movement and resistance requirements with CAD-CAE-CAM programs along with other specific requirements based on an iterative process and exploratory research associated with the comfort, low cost, functionality, safety and aesthetics proposed by the patients of the hospital San Vicente de Paul” from the city of Ibarra in Ecuador. The results obtained show that a prosthetic device can be developed as a minimum viable product oriented by the patients involved in the design, allowing flexo-extension movements from 0° to 90° of the limb with degree of mobility II.
