Resumen
One of the most challenges rose farmers face are the optimization of the usage of water, being irrigation a critical issue for agriculture. Conventional irrigation methods could be inefficient affecting the quality and yield of the rose crop. In this work an IoT-based smart irrigation system for roses was implemented. The system involves sensors and communication devices known as node, actuators, and a central control system. The system initiates the process by the measurement of soil moisture and temperature through sensors, data is preprocesed and transmitted by LoRaWAN technology by the Cube-Cell module to be connected to the Chirpstack platform. Finally users can visualize on an OLED display. For testing the solution, three nodes were used, locating them in specific places in a greenhouse. To save energy nodes were configured in the low power consumption mode and low polling mode for transmision. Details of the implementation are presented in the work.
