Resumen
UNESCO claims that Early Childhood Development (ECD) is considered one of the pillars of children’s rights. The ECD has a double impact in two areas: it ensures the implementation of the rights of young children and supports the right to education. Currently, in Ecuador, there are no interactive tools designed to support and enhance the educational activities aimed at children from 3 to 5 years from public and private schools. For these reasons, in this paper, we present a system able to recommend exercises for children (through regression trees) and provide children with playful activities to develop visual perception (through serious games and an interactive device-a “magical wand”). Four experts of initial education evaluated the system, and at the same time, eight children and youth with disabilities interacted with the tool to determine its functionality. Even though the experts have no consensus about the system, the results are encouraging.
