Resumen
In Ecuador, a fundamental part of the new extractivist scenario is mining at large-scale, which has been the subject of discussion and a source of conflict for more than one of each. This qualitative and inductive research seeks to analyze the conflict around the first undertaking of this category in the country, a projectLookout. As a main result, it is concluded that the Mirador project has generated a process of long-term conflict, with a complex variety of content and actors. As the backbone of the origin, development and possible solution of the mining conflict, it is proposed to increase transparency in the public information as a democratic right regulated by the national legal framework.
