Abstract
The YouTube platform is one of the most viewed websites around the world, countries such as Thailand and Vietnam use this social network. Currently it has positioned itself as the main video platform, revolutionizing the way of watching audiovisual content. In Latin America there is a greater acceptance, Mexico is the country that most visits this platform and also in a large percentage Brazil and Argentina. On the other hand, in Ecuador most people have visited or know this social network. A communication phenomenon that emerged on YouTube was the emergence of people who upload content to this platform, also known as youtubers. Young people are the ones who have chosen to use this new way of communicating. The topics they use in their videos are diverse, ranging from personal experiences to informative content. The first youtubers appeared in 2012 and in the following year the first commercial videos emerged so that finally in 2014 and 2015 youtubers use commercial media to transform into showbusiness (Bonoga & Turiel, 2016). In Ecuador youtubers have presence in some cities of the country such as Guayaquil, Cuenca and Quito.
