Abstract
The purpose of this study was to use an instructional system for the use of Maple 18 software in the development of high-power mathematical algorithms and to compare the calculations performed in a normal way with those executed by Maple. Seventeen students between the ages of 21 and 50 years old participated in this study. They are registered in the last semester of the Mathematical Physicist Career of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Educational Sciences. We worked with a single intact group; the group was given an entrance test and an exit test where they and an exit test in which they solved mathematical problems using Maple 18. The paired t-test was used to accept or reject the null hypothesis. The The research proved that the instructional system using Maple 18 improves performance and fosters performance and fosters learning to solve mathematical problems using complex algorithms of complex algorithms of Symbolic Calculation Systems of high numerical power. algorithms. The learning in the use of Maple 18 was significant, since its average was 94%.
