Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence the implementation of organizational strategies to leverage e-business as a competitive advantage tool in Venezuelan public enterprises. To explore this topic, an online survey was designed using Google Forms, comprising five sections: First section gathered demographic information from participants, second section assessed their perceptions of e-business importance, third section identified critical factors deemed essential for e-business implementation, four section examined the state of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the limitations in accessing them, the fifth section solicited opinions on the most beneficial e-business models for Venezuelan public companies and the sixth section assessed the participants' perceptions of the potential impact of e-business on improving their company's productivity and business management practices. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling approach was employed, with an inclusion criterion yielding 50 survey respondents. Descriptive statistical analysis and multiple correspondence analysis were performed to examine the survey data. The study reveals the significant potential of e-business in enhancing the management of Venezuelan public enterprises, particularly through modalities such as e-commerce, digital marketing, customer relationship management, and e-government. However, several challenges emerge, including the need for investment in personnel training and infrastructure in the ICT.
