Abstract
Fr. Marco Gonzalo Paredes Vallejos was born in Atuntaqui, among the land, labor, and simple faith of a farming family that taught him to look at others as equals. That seed blossomed into a Salesian vocation that would lead him, for more than four decades, to the margins where presence was most needed: the correctional facility, the Indigenous communities of the highlands, the nights of Quito, and the working-class neighborhoods of Guayaquil and Esmeraldas. This book gathers his testimony in the form of an interview: a close, honest, and deeply human conversation in which Fr. Marco reveals how Don Bosco’s charism becomes embodied in every face accompanied, in every word that restores dignity, and in every community that learns to trust again.
