Abstract
This article focuses on the optimal location of photovoltaic typeDistributed Generation (DG), in a distribution system of 33 IEEEnodes. The location of DG was carried out considering the studyof the system through analysis of power flows, obtaining asresults the values of power, losses and voltages in per unit of thenodes of the system, being so that there are critical nodes, whichare located below a tolerable operating range. In this context, theoptimal generation location based on Genetic Algorithm (GA) iscontemplated, which performs the search for the nodes wherephotovoltaic type DG will be placed considering technicalrestrictions. The application of the genetic algorithm alsodetermines the optimal power of photovoltaic systems. Finally, the comparison of the operation of the system is made when itoperates with and without distributed generation. The results arethe improvement of the system voltage profiles and the reductionof losses in the system.
