Abstract

The current scenario of higher education imposes a series of challenges related to the evaluation of educational quality and the incorporation of measures to improve the permanence of students in higher education institutions, being academic performance and university disengagement, as emerging problems that require the implementation of measures, mainly at university entrance. The present work is descriptive and explanatory of the before and during the implementation of the Peer Tutoring program under the virtual modality due to the declaration of national emergency by the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that 97.67% of the students who benefited from the peer tutoring program under the virtual modality, have managed to pass their subjects, showing how this methodological strategy is a key alternative for academic support in Accounting Careers.
