Abstract
This article presents a comparative thermodynamic study of refrigerant HC R600a and HFC R134a. In the study the operating temperatures measured by thermocouples located at strategic sites, in addition to the use of a device for measuring the quality of power energy consumption, and finally determined by using thermodynamic equations and software EES (engineering equation solver), the coefficient of performance (COP) for each case in this study was calculated. For comparison between the two refrigerant compressor charged with R134a 1/4HP and 1/4HP and 1/6HP compressors charged with R600a in domestic refrigerators in the same model and capacity was used. From this it was determined that with R600a and refrigerator compressor 1/4 hp COP is 2.7 and the compressor 1/6 Hp is 4.8, whereas R134a is 3.5; plus the maximum temperatures reached in the system components and loaded with R600a Compressor 1/6 Hp are: admission to -33.92°C evaporator, compressor outlet 60.73°C, 37.53°C entering the compressor and condenser outlet 36.75°C.
