Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The research article examines the theoretical elements for SME access to financing in Latin America, with emphasis on Ecuador. It addresses problems such as the lack of structured supply of financing and specific obstacles for SMEs in the region. It highlights the role of public banks in mitigating market failures and gender diversity in credit decisions. It focuses on the Province of El Oro, proposing to analyze the promotion and access mechanisms developed by Ecuadorian banks between 2000 and 2023. The methodology adopts a pragmatic and realistic approach. The most relevant result of the study is the formulation of a theoretical proposal that seeks to improve the relationship between banks and SMEs, facilita-ting more effective access to financing. It considers the evolu-tion of the regulatory framework, marketing strategies and credit conditions for equitable financial inclusion.
