Abstract
The article analyzes the relationship between X management and Google Scholar metrics in 127 scientific journals indexed in SciELO Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay taking into account the respective citations. It is highlighted that only 22% of the 127 journals indexed in SciELO in the four countries had active accounts in X and Google Scholar. In addition, the correlation between X and citations in Google Scholar for scientific journals is evident. Moreover, the study found a positive correlation between the number of publications and followers in X with the number of citations in Google Scholar. Although there is a positive correlation between publications in X and citations in Google Scholar, as well as an evident increase in followers, the scientific journals of the Latin American region are not making an effective presence in social networks, or at least in X for the present study, therefore, it is suggested that a strategic communication plan be carried out to achieve the objectives of visibility.
