Abstract
The article presents the results of an investigation about the use of ICT in the process of teaching theoretical subjects in the formation of the social communicator. It is held at the Salesian Polytechnic University. Guayaquil. Ecuador. It is inquired about the use of the technologies in the class sessions emphasizing in theoretical subjects from which the reflective processes that occur in the interaction theory-practice are valued. The audiovisual production process is studied from a historical perspective for its understanding and to he able to point out the advantages that this support warns to the teaching processes that are based on it. The qualitative matrix of exploratory-descriptive type is used. The objective is to know and understand how ICT can contribute to the teaching-learning process. As part of the conclusions, it is evident that the use of video has increased in different training levels and in a revealing way in university education. One of the results is expressed from the conception that the ICTs are very useful but their use transits by the economic factor that. at times, can limit its use.
