Abstract

The organization of agroecological producers Biovida, located in the Cayambe canton, province of Pichincha, accompanied by the Alternative Development Services Foundation, has been working in agroecological production and marketing for more than a decade, during which time it has worked on the rescue of ancestral knowledge and incorporation of modern agroecological production technologies with partner families, as well as the implementation and validation of a PGS (participatory system of local guarantee); based on this experience it considers necessary to have some key elements for the construction and sustainability of the same. As a national reference, it is an inspiration for other organizations in the province, such as the Buen Vivir de Pedro Moncayo Association, which is moving towards the transition to agroecology through the consolidation of the PGS.
