Abstract

Power analytics as a philosophy for understanding Sino-Latin American relations explores the theoretical bases that Latin American scholars use to study these relations. The general objective of this study is to analyze international relations between China and Latin America from the perspective of poststructuralist constructivism. In the specific case of Latin America, it was observed that authors researching China's relations with Latin America, from the field of international relations, tend to use one main type of rhetoric: "dependence".This research determined that in the first 17 years of the 21st century, the reflections of Latin American scholars were not constructed from Anglo-Saxon and European theoretical considerations, but from dependency.1. OrganizationThe first chapter aims to study poststructuralist constructivism as a theory and methodology of analysis. To this end, the theoretical approach of the research is formulated, delving into the study of the perspectives that, from poststructuralist constructivism, observe international relations, with special attention to a type of theory and methodology that facilitates the understanding and analysis of the way in which discourses derived from Michel Foucault's initial postulates are constructed. The importance of poststructuralist constructivism in the field of international relations and, above all, the use of power analytics for its interpretation and reflection, as well as the application of archeology and genealogy as methods have been the subject of debate in the field of international relations, especially because of its rejection of epistemic foundationalism. It is important to point out that authors such as Richard Ashley and Rob Walker have made it possible to think the field of knowledge of international relations from this perspective. Foucault's thought has been fundamental in analyzing the processes of production of truths or knowledge. Likewise, authors such as Dillon, Neal, Bigo, Jabri, among others, have reflected from the theoretical perspective of philosophers such as Foucault, Derrida, Deleuze, Bourdieu, etc. Therefore, using Foucault's theory to reflect on international relations is not a mere "speculative option or theoretical preference, remembering what Foucault said, but a justifiable relevance to analyze and understand something of a rapidly resizing world" (Rodrigues 2014, 102).The second chapter aims to explore the literature produced during the first 17 years of the 21st century of Latin American scholars' reflections, regarding Sino-Latin American relations. To this end, two techniques were applied that allowed an adequate collection of information; the first, through a bibliometric analysis that allowed the investigation of the existing "constructed" literature in three databases: Scopus, Redalyc and Scielo. In order to explore the theoretical constructions of Latin American academics, a tool was used to identify the statements of the discourses. When we speak o.
