Abstract

The pandemic caused by the presence of COVID 19, undoubtedly marked a before and after in the processes of profesional training, in the same way, the social confinement, the change of paradigm and new ways of approaching teaching and learning,had repercussions not only in academic aspects, but also in social and psychological aspects both in the teaching staff and students, the latter, in several cases, were affected. In the research progress, it was found that the anxiety levels of students of the following engineering careers: Computer Science, Logistics and Transportation: Computing, Logistics and Transportation; Agriculture and Livestock; and Food of the Universidad Politécnica Estatal del Carchi (Tulcán - Ecuador), evidenced an increase, determined by the application of the Anxiety Test “AMAS-C”, to a representative sample of the different levels of training, whose reliability analysis by internal consistency from the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, and Pearson’s correlation, allowed identifying results as inputs to propose alternative solutions to somehow reduce the aspects related to learning that had greater concern, such as preparation for exams, physiological anxiety and total anxiety. One of the didactic strategies adopted by the University was the design and application of the didactic guide, characteristic of distance education, combined with virtual education strategies, synchronous and asynchronous.
