Abstract

This paper presents the results of an exploratory research of multimodal matrix, and responds to the line of research in social responsibility and citizenship of the social communication career of the Salesian Polytechnic University. It focuses on the study of television news consumption and the social perception of fear. In the approach to the object of study we worked with a sample of residents in the emblematic Centenario neighborhood of the city of Guayaquil. Theoretical methods of scientific research (analysis, synthesis, induction) were used. Direct observation, in-depth interview, documents from the Police Unit (sector 4) and a questionnaire were used to reach conclusions and recommendations.
