Abstract
In Ecuador there are 4302 species of orchidscataloged in approximately 210 genera, of which moreof 1700 are endemic species [1], the genus Huntleya in Ecuadorrecords seven species, including H. meleagris, H. wallisii, H. burtii and H. gustavi[2]. Orchids traditionally in the areahave been used medicinally due to their anti-allergenic characteristics,anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and cytotoxic [3].
