Abstract
The research proposes to design the body of an interstate bus which decreases the effects of kinetic energy produced by a frontal collision of the structure. This will be achieved by basing the study on the current regulations by INEN to design a structure that is completely enabled. Establishing a field study of current structures and modifying its external structural part with elements of tubular section. Computational analysis by the finite element software ANSYS CAE© demonstrates the feasibility of this design and a study scale models physically manifest the difference between the proposed structure against a standard under the same conditions in a frontal collision.
