Abstract
This study focuses on establishing a photovoltaic planning strategy in 69 kV subtransmission systems of Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur C.A. in Cuenca, Ecuador. For this reason, it is carried out to analyze certain technical criteria such as voltage and frequency profiles, the integration capacity of the photovoltaic system and the evaluation under the IEEE 2800 standard. The behavior of generation systems is analyzed using computer simulations such as Power Factory DiGSILENT and Python, considering failure contingency. The study shows that the incorporation of photovoltaic systems in the subtransmission network is applicable and, therefore, is of great relevance for energy planning in Ecuador, as they allow the optimization of subtransmission infrastructure and strengthen the transition towards a more sustainable energy model.
