This paper presents an application to foment social interaction among elderly people. This app is part of the SAFER platform, focused on meeting the needs of this part of population. The app stores in a database the profiles of the elderly with the types of events of their preference. A search is made on the Web of the events to be held in the city. A comparison is carried out based on contents and, if the characteristics of this event agree with those preferred by the elder, the event is recommended to the person indicating: Place, date and time. In addition, the system recommends the formation of a sporadic social group made up of elders of similar preferences, with whom the elder can attend. Our initial implementation shows satisfaction in the users and a 64% attendance to the recommended events.
