Abstract
Today, more than ever, the city is conceptualized in terms of its relations with global processes of flow, of complex interconnections in light of the evident scientific, technological and communications revolution. This has generated new characteristics in the management of cities and impacts on their spatial and social structure, and of the dynamic (synergic) relationship between the local and the global, within the framework of post-industrial capitalist societies. These changes redefine the concepts of space as a consequence of the need for generalization and globalization of financial capital and markets.
