Abstract
The Rapid expansion of Internet networks requires robust and scalable solutions for remote management of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), especially for small and medium-sized Internet service providers. This paper presents the SMART-MANAGER IT platform, a multitenant, multi-user system designed to address the complexities of centralized CPE management using the TR-069 protocol. The platform integrates the open source GenieACS server with a middleware layer that enhances interoperability through the Semantic Sensor Network (SSN) ontology. Key features include real-time device monitoring, efficient data processing, advanced security mechanisms (JWT and RBAC), and customisable dashboards tailored to different user roles. In a production environment, the system demonstrated remarkable scalability and performance, successfully managing 5,000 devices with minimal latency (average 25 ms) and maintaining stability under high load. The proposed architecture significantly reduces operational costs for small ISPs while ensuring seamless CPE management. This makes it a practical and scalable solution for large-scale IoT ecosystems. Future work will focus on integrating the TR-369 protocol to support next-generation device management and further enhance system capabilities.
