Abstract
This study develops a simplified procedure to evaluate the tan delta in dielectric materials. The proposed method includes setting up a measurement circuit based on standards and previous work, obtaining data from the test item, processing the data using a digital filter, and analysing the results. The data obtained in dry, rainy and polluted environment conditions were processed and validated with reference to established standards, concluding that the method is not reliable for measuring the tan delta but the proposed digital filter works correctly.
