Abstract
© 2014 IEEE. A new topology for a two-phase shunt active power filter using a voltage source converter is proposed. The converter is controlled with a predictive control algorithm based in a discrete mathematical model of the system which allows to minimize the quadratic error between the lines currents and the reference currents. The whole system is tested with simulations and with a prototype experimental setup, showing its effectiveness in the compensation of current harmonics produced by two-phase nonlinear loads.
