The article presents the results of a theoretical investigation about the production of scientific videos and their application to the process of teaching and learning carried out in educational centers of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. It is located within the line Audiovisual Production and Communication. Creation of scientific videos of the career of Social Communication with mention in audiovisual and multimedia production of the Salesian Polytechnic University. For the realization of the article it was necessary the use of key terms that helped, later, to the collection of data. We use terms such as: audiovisual production, understood as the production of contents for audiovisual media; the next term used is audiovisual communication, recognized as the process in which there is an exchange of messages through a sound and/or visual system; and the last term we use is scientific video, which is the one that uses audiovisual resources to obtain relevant and reliable information. As part of the results we present a theoretical methodological proposal for the production of videos for educational purposes. As a conclusion it is exposed, in the first term, that from the communicative pronouncement in these last times, the current social relations, constitute a successful context of possibilities that are exhibited to the education to generate points of encounter between the world of the daily thing and the knowledge. Another validated indicator, as part of the research, is that the teachers surveyed use the potential of the audiovisual medium and, supported by them, deploy alternatives for its use.
