Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The dissemination of knowledge by scientific journals has become strongly involved in the digital era, going from print to digital formats, which suggests a decrease in management expenses specifically for printing and, on the other hand, the emergence of a large number of scientific journals. Globally. What has been described above forces these publications to look for strategies that allow them to stand out in the digital world, for which an interesting application strategy is proper content management. The objective of the study was: Identify the qualities of the content published and hare don Facebook by the scientific journals indexed in SciELO Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. For this, scientific observation was used as a tool for empirical, cross-sectional research with a descriptive and correlational scope. 67,86% of the journals indexed in SciELO for these three countries do not have a profile on the social network Facebook (FB). The journals analyzed in the three countries mostly choose to make their posts on FB using an image and some accompanying text. These results do not suggest an active and innovative management by scientific journals, a decisive management in the activities of the digital economy.
