Abstract
Societies demand increasingly flat and circular relationships; spaces of participation for the exercise of active citizenship together with spaces and platforms for civic engagement (González, 2012). Therefore, The general objective of this study is to analyze the implementation of Salesian associationism in the university context, for this, the following were determined as specific objectives: [1]. To establish the theoretical basis of Salesian university associationism. [2]. To examine the initiatives of Salesian associationism applied in the university context. Recognizing the existence of 30 Salesian institutions of higher education around the world, highlighting 5 located in Latin America: Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in Ecuador, Universidad Salesiana in Bolivia, Universidad Don Bosco in El Salvador, Universidade Católica Dom Bosco in Brazil and Universidad Católica Silva Henríquez in Chile, and that currently there is no official evidence of the use of university associativism except that coming from Ecuador, in so much, the first specific objective is to carry out an exhaustive review of the documents presented by the Salesian Polytechnic University that promote associative practices as a space for development oriented to teaching, research and linkage with the community, among them are the Navigation Charter of the Salesian Polytechnic University, the Strategic Plan of the University and the University Reflection Notebooks.
