Abstract
This chapter analyzes right-wing youth groups in Brazil, Argentina, and Ecuador, exploring the similarities and differences in their political and ideological positions. The study examines how these youth groups position themselves on issues such as moral conservatism, economic neoliberalism, and anti-politics. The authors use survey data and qualitative interviews to understand the motivations and perspectives of these young people. The analysis reveals that, although there are variations between countries, there are common themes such as the defense of "economic freedom," conservative positions on gender and sexuality issues, and an anti-political discourse that criticizes traditional institutions. The study also highlights how these groups have gained visibility and relevance in the context of progressive governments and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors argue that it is important to avoid generalizations about right-wing youth and recognize the diversity of their positions. The chapter concludes by pointing out the need for further research to understand the reconfigurations of these groups in the future.
