Abstract
Today's society is complex, it has grown technologically and scientifically, butit would seem that it presents a particular situation that denotes a loss of meaningof identity or belonging in terms of customs, beliefs and cultural traditions. Education in the family and in formal institutions have neglectedthis reality and instead have been concerned with providing tools to makeand have, lacking strategies that allow rescuing and strengthening the beliefs andtraditions that have historically given a cultural identity. The main objective of this chapter is to analyze the importance of culture in order to redefine it and propose guidelines for strengthening thecultural identity as a mechanism to rescue customs and traditions.
