Abstract
The present article shows the methodology to treat the satellite data of the variable TSM (UKMO), with the purpose of allowing the specializade technicians to correctly generate both geospatial information maps and trend charts of Surface Temperature of the Territorial Sea and Insular Region. from Ecuador, which will allow a detailed analysis of the behavior of the SST variable throughout the period from June to November, information corresponding to the dry climate season of 2007-2016, in the delimited local domain (2N -5S, 76W-93W). The high resolution satellite data (6km), provided by the United Kingdom Meteorological Service, is placed in an open repository in order to use it for studies of various types globally. It is related to various research areas in the country due to the great influence that the sea surface temperature has on the processes of ocean-atmospheric coupling, as well as its temporal and spatial evolution according to the seasonality of the region. The treatment of the information is fundamental, so the homogeneity of the data and the adjustments of time series are necessary to visualize the presented variations due to errors in the satellite data estimation, extracted from the repository of the open access network. After a quality control of the data in the delimited local domain, the generation of derived products as interpolated maps and trend charts show the average decadal behavior of the sea surface temperature in the Equatorial zone, this procedure contributes to any type of development for different analyzes.
