Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the psychometric pro-perties of the AMAS Scale (Manifest Anxiety in Adults) in the Ecuadorian population and to validate the scale for the same population. The questionnaire was developed by Rey-nolds C., Richmond B. O. and Lowe P. A. (2003), based on the Manifest Anxiety Scale in Children -Revised CMAS - R (Rey-nolds & Richmond, 1978, 1985). In 2006, the publisher El Manual Moderno translated, validated, and standardized the scale for the Mexican population, and it is also used by other Spanish-speaking countries. In 2020, the scale was applied to 603 adults (students, teachers and administrative staff of the Carchi State Polytechnic University), its psychometric properties have been evaluated through internal consistency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and evidence in fa-vor of validity. in all its subscales. The results indicate that this scale is an adequa-te and valid measure for the evaluation of anxiety in Ecuadorian adults.
