Abstract

This study examines the combination of security, Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data models for road data management. The challenge lies in implementing solutions that ensure public safety, user privacy, and protection against cyber threats while providing reliable services for data from the public network. Using a literature review, the main objective was to design a secure prototype applicable to IoT and Big Data in road management in Guayaquil. The study yielded several results, including the organizational chart of road information management, a security model that integrates IoT and Big Data for road management in Guayaquil, and an evaluation of the model’s effectiveness through electronic simulation. It emphasizes the need for IoT and Big Data security to ensure data integrity during transmission between devices, roads, and vehicles, protecting against potential attacks in distributed environments. The study highlights the importance of real-time monitoring to maintain network awareness and detect abnormal activities. Additionally, it notes that the efficiency of the proposed model is directly related to the size of its components. This study underscores the significance of IoT and Big Data security in improving data integrity in exchanging information between devices, roads, and vehicles. It emphasizes the value of real-time monitoring to ensure network awareness and anomaly detection.
