Abstract
This article emerged from the implementation of a pilot pedagogical methodology that combined territorial analysis with activities aimed at territorial empowerment in Puerto Berrío. The aim was to decentralize a heritage discourse that is often distant and incongruent with local diversity. Significant conclusions are highlighted, including the imposition of Western values on the concept of heritage and the disconnection between academia and the material conditions and people who generate said heritage. The main objective was to explore alternatives to mitigate the gap between academia and society, especially with local groups. The research promoted horizontal dialogue, encouraged reflection on the territory, and recognized its historical dimension. It integrated territorial research, theoretical foundations, and the analysis of social construction and representation, seeking to reconstruct the territorial landscape together with the school groups, imbued with meanings that span the past, present, and future.
