Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

The objective of this study was to integrate homemade sensory activities into the curriculum of the Cátedra Integradora course in the sixth semester of the Early Childhood Education program at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana. A qualitative-descriptive study was conducted through a literature review and interviews with seven professionals in early childhood education and child development, using content analysis and data triangulation. The professionals agreed on the importance of sensory stimulation for the holistic development of children, recommending activities such as the use of colored fabrics, music, and household utensils. They identified common challenges such as limited time and resources, but also noted positive changes in the perception of sensory stimulation. The study concludes that the inclusion of homemade sensory activities in the curriculum is both practical and effective, enhancing the preparation of future teachers and promoting an inclusive and creative approach to early childhood education.
