Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in the subject of Finance 1, using office tools: Microsoft Word and Excel, to improve the teaching-learning process in the acquisition of knowledge, skills - skills and attitudes, for the interpretation of Financial Statements of Ecuadorian companies. A type of non-experimental, explanatory or causal, cross-sectional empirical research was used in this study, in this case in one semester, (October 2021- March 2022); as a qualitative variable the teaching dimension, resources, knowledge, abilities, skills, attitude; and as a quantitative variable: grades. Information collection techniques were used: a) surveys through the Google form questionnaire, with a Likert scale; and b) grades. Data were processed using frequency distribution tables and bar graphs. An own PBL model was developed, applied to the population of students in Finance 1 of the fourth semester at the Salesian Polytechnic University Guayaquil Campus: 56 students, were organized into groups and presented the financial analysis of 12 companies as a final product. Conclusion: using this methodology has a significant impact on students and improves their motivation.
