Abstract
Learning programming in engineering involves facing various challenges, ranging from prior technical knowledge to its understanding and application. This book compiles the introductory content of the first-year programming course, drawing on the author’s more than twenty years of experience and his teaching practice at the Salesian Polytechnic University (Guayaquil Campus). Through an innovative techno-pedagogical approach promoted by the Computer Science program, this work seeks to foster meaningful learning. Readers are invited to find motivation in learning programming by creating algorithmic artifacts and developing solutions that will contribute to social well-being in the future. Building on a mastery of essential knowledge, this book contributes to the training of professionals capable of reducing inequalities and generating new knowledge for a more just and equitable world.
